Abstract

Metabolic syndrome in postmenopausal women is a serious medical and social condition, characterized by a combination of risk factors and clinical manifestations that significantly affect their health and quality of life. Risk factors include a decrease in estrogen levels after menopause, genetic predispositions, lifestyle (including poor diet and insufficient physical activity) and associated diseases.Clinical manifestations include abdominal obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, inflammatory conditions, and risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Understanding these factors and manifestations is extremely important for the effective management of metabolic syndrome in postmenopausal women and the prevention of the development of its complications.
