Most studies have found that 60% to 80% of the population in industrialized countries are affected by this disease at some point in their lives (Jennifer L. Kelsey , Ph.D. Anne , L. Golden , 1990; Kuznetsov V.F., 2004). The prevalence of sciatica caused by the formation of a herniated disc is 1%-3% of the total population (Andersson G. B., 1991).
