Gingival hypertrophy during orthodontic treatment of teeth: etiology, pathogenesis and approaches to prevention.

Gingival tissue hypertrophy is one of the possible consequences associated with orthodontic treatment of teeth. This condition is manifested by an increase in gingival volume, which can cause aesthetic problems, difficulties in maintaining hygiene and deterioration of the general condition of the oral cavity. It is worth emphasizing that gingival hypertrophy can develop both in patients already predisposed to this phenomenon and in those undergoing orthodontic therapy for the first time.
