Abstract

The incidence of oral cancer has recently been on the rise, with a very low level of understanding among the general public. Moreover, over the past 10 years, the incidence of oral cancer as a whole has increased by 25%. Oral cancer accounts for 2% of the total number of malignant neoplasms worldwide, which corresponds to 300,000 cases per year. This article provides information on the prevalence and epidemiology of cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx in the Bukhara region. Statistical data are taken on the contingent of patients with malignant neoplasms of the oral cavity and pharynx, registered in oncological institutions of the Bukhara region in 2021.
