Abstract

Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous ganglion that is chronic and self-limiting. Acne vulgaris is caused by Proionobacterium acnes during adolescence under the influence of normally circulating dehydroepiandrosterone. It is a very common skin disease that can present with inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions. This event examines the etiology, evaluation and treatment of acne vulgaris and highlights the role of an interprofessional team in the care of patients with this condition.
