Abstract

Acute appendicitis is one of the most frequent causes of emergency surgery in children and occupies a significant place in pediatric surgery. This pathology often presents with classic symptoms such as pain in the lower right quadrant of the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, and fever. This literature review is aimed at systematizing knowledge about rare complications of acute appendicitis in children, which allows justifying the need to improve the level of specialist training and introduce modern standards into clinical practice.
