Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder that affects pre-menopausal women, characterized by chronic anovulation and hyperandrogenism. As far as women are concerned, PCOS is the most common hormone disorder that manifests in menstrual cycle irregularities and multiple little cysts on the ovaries resulting hormonal imbalances to a great extent affecting their overall health — physical, mental or otherwise. Anxiety and depression are the most commonly associated comorbidities with PCOS, both of which tend to co-exist, furthering the burdensome effect of this syndrome.
