Acute Methanol Poisoning

The review presents modern data on the physicochemical properties, toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics and mechanism of toxic action of methanol. Clinical manifestations, methods of instrumental and laboratory diagnostics, as well as the basic principles of methanol poisoning therapy are considered. A systematic review of the literature in electronic bibliographic databases was carried out: Medline, Pubmed, Science Direct, eLIBRARY, Cyberleninka, etc. using the keywords: "methanol poisoning", "acute poisoning" "methyl alcohol", "formic acid", "metabolic acidosis". The search covered the latest research for 10 years.
