Myasthenia: Issues of Pathogenesis and Treatment

Myasthenia, characterized by periodically occurring excessive weakness and fatigue of striated muscles, was classified as a nosological entity more than 100 years ago. Despite the long period since its recognition, a number of fundamental issues concerning the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, and treatment of this disease require further detailed study and investigation.
