Distal occlusion (Engle's skeletal class II) is one of the most common dentoalveolar anomalies, occurring in 30-50% of the population of various ethnic groups and characterized by the distal position of the lower jaw relative to the upper or proximal position of the upper jaw. Distal pricking can be caused by both skeletal factors (underdevelopment of the lower jaw, excessive development of the upper jaw, or their combination) and dentoalveolar factors (medial position of the upper molars, distal position of the lower molars), making it a multifactorial problem requiring a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment.
