As the pandemic progresses, effective vaccines and new treatments are developed, a deeper understanding of late complications in patients who experience SARS-CoV-2 infection is becoming increasingly important. Due to the prevalence of respiratory failure in critically ill patients and the need for mechanical ventilation, there is growing concern about long-term pulmonary complications, primarily pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
