Abstract

Chronic pharyngitis and chronic tonsillitis represent one of the most pressing problems in modern otorhinolaryngology, requiring a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment. These diseases are characterized by high prevalence in the population, tendency to recurrent course, and significant impact on patients' quality of life. According to various authors, the prevalence of chronic pharyngitis ranges from 15% to 35% among the adult population, with 60-80% of patients showing concomitant tonsillar pathology.
