COVID-19 is an infectious viral disease that primarily affects the lung tissue. Pathognomonic symptoms are shortness of breath, and in severe cases, respiratory distress syndrome. In addition to these manifestations, patients complain of dry cough, high fever, loss of taste and smell. Diagnostics - detection of the pathogen in biological materials (molecular genetic method), specific antibodies to the pathogen (ELISA). Etiotropic treatment is carried out with certain antiviral and other drugs, pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy is used.
