Sinusitis is one of the most pressing problems of modern otorhinolaryngology, characterized by inflammatory lesions of the paranasal sinuses of various etiologies and pathogenesis. According to the World Health Organization, sinusitis ranks second in frequency among all diseases of the upper respiratory tract, after only acute respiratory infections, and is diagnosed annually in 10-15% of the adult population of developed countries.
