Abstract:

The term glomerulonephritis encompasses a group of kidney diseases characterized by immune-mediated damage to the basement membrane, mesangium, or capillary endothelium, resulting in hematuria, proteinuria, and azotemia. Acute forms of glomerulonephritis (GN) can occur as a result of a primary renal cause or a secondary disease causing renal manifestations.
