Abstract

Postembryonic development represents a critical phase of ontogenesis that bridges embryogenesis and the mature organismal state. It encompasses a wide range of morphogenetic, physiological, and biochemical transformations that ensure species-specific growth, differentiation, and adaptation to environmental conditions. This paper explores the general laws governing postembryonic development, highlighting its genetic, hormonal, and ecological determinants. Furthermore, it provides a comparative analysis of postembryonic stages across taxa and outlines advanced methodological approaches used to study these processes.
