Abstract

Odontogenic osteomyelitis of the jaw bones represents one of the most complex and socially significant problems of modern maxillofacial surgery and dentistry. According to various authors, odontogenic infection accounts for 70-85% of all inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region, while osteomyelitis lesions account for 15-20% of the total number of odontogenic inflammatory processes.
