Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia among neurodegenerative diseases. New advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques, such as functional (fMRI) and diffusion tensor (DT-MRI) imaging, allow assessment of brain tissue changes in AD at microstructural and functional levels and can be used in the diagnosis of this pathological process at early stages of cognitive impairment.
