Abstract:

Laboratory diagnostics is a fundamental pillar of modern clinical medicine, providing objective and reproducible data essential for disease screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic monitoring. Over the past two decades, rapid technological progress has significantly transformed laboratory medicine, driven by advances in automation, molecular and genetic diagnostics, digitalization, biomarker discovery, and artificial intelligence. These innovations have improved analytical sensitivity and specificity, reduced turnaround time, and enhanced clinical decision-making. This review summarizes current trends and future perspectives of laboratory diagnostics in clinical medicine, emphasizing their clinical relevance and potential impact on precision and personalized healthcare.
