Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucous membrane covering the inner walls of the maxillary sinus. Paranasal or maxillary sinuses - cavities in the thickness of the upper jaw bone on both sides of the nose. The sinuses perform several functions: they warm and moisten the inhaled air, equalize the pressure, and act as a resonator to correct the timbre of the voice. The disease is polyetiological, that is, it can occur due to several reasons. The question of how to properly treat sinusitis is decided by an ENT doctor, depending on the etiology of the disease.
