Arterial hypertension (AH) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are interrelated conditions that often accompany each other and significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance, hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia play a key role in the pathogenesis of both conditions. These metabolic changes contribute to the development of endothelial dysfunction, increased vascular stiffness and remodeling of the vascular wall, which aggravates the course of hypertension and diabetes. Understanding these relationships is important for developing effective prevention and treatment strategies aimed at reducing cardiovascular risk in patients with a combination of hypertension and diabetes.
