Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is characterized by a chronic inflammatory process involving the respiratory tract, lung parenchyma, and blood vessels, with a notable increase in neutrophils, macrophages, and T-lymphocytes. The disease is associated with hypoxia-induced damage to the brain, which relies heavily on oxygen for its function and lacks significant oxygen reserves. This study examined the impact of COPD progression on cerebral hemodynamics and evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of diosmin in alleviating associated cerebrovascular impairments.
