Cerebral palsy (CP) represents a group of permanent disorders of the development of movement and posture, causing activity limitation, which are attributed to non-progressive disturbances that occurred in the developing brain during the perinatal period. According to current epidemiological data, the prevalence of cerebral palsy is 2-3.6 cases per 1,000 live births and has remained stable over the past decades, despite significant progress in perinatology and neonatology.
